Christian"DFRNC" Charley

With over nineteen years of experience, Chicago native Christian Charley, known to the world as DFRNC (pronounced "difference"), is respected and praised for his work as a sound engineer, music producer and performer. His work as a sound engineer has led him to mix multiple albums for various local and national artists. He has also directed sound and film in television. DFRNC’s approach to his production style is heavily influenced by his vast experience and knowledge as a lyricist and performer of Alternative Hip Hop, a music style that focuses on the fusion of multiple genres to enhance positive and meaningful lyrics. DFRNC’s commitment to originality and individuality coincides heavily with the music he creates, informing the creativity and attention to detail that he maintains throughout his other areas of expertise.

DFRNC’s career in the sound field and the music industry started in 2018 when he attended the University of Michigan. He recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts Technology, specializing in performative business and interactive media. Throughout his studies, DFRNC learned entrepreneurship skills to create new and innovative ways to market creators in the music industry. At the age of 19, he made his producer and artist debut releasing a song on all streaming platforms with a friend and fellow artist Rory Moon under the duo name “Care to Improvise.” With C.T.I. established, Rosewood was released to the public. Half a year later, he made his solo debut with a single titled Nitrate. From that point on, DFRNC has released four studio singles and is currently in the process of releasing a new single titled Hold Your Crown.
